Praise The Lord For A Purpose!

September 10th, 2013

With the armies of Israel being Challenged and the God of Israel being Defied, young David could contain himself no longer when he declared in    (I Samuel 17:29) “…Is there not a cause?” Life’s purpose is realized to its fullest when we give ourselves to a cause bigger than ourselves.

There is no bigger cause than the preaching of the Cross of Jesus Christ. (Acts 8:5) says, “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.” In the next chapter we find these words in (Acts 9:20) “And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.” The Apostle declared in (I Corinthians 1:23) “But we preach Christ crucified…”

This must be more than a Phrase or even a Position it must be our Passion and our Purpose. Believing in the message of the cross is the difference between Heaven and Hell. Here at Grace Baptist Church and Grace Baptist College we are passionately striving to keep the message of the cross our central focus.

This past weekend we had the tremendous joy of seeing 24 teenagers saved on an overnight youth activity. On Sunday 20 of them were baptized. This week I am preaching at the Northeast Regional Rock Of Ages Prison Ministry Conference in Jeannette, PA and at the National Passing The Mantel Conference in Walls, MS. When I get home we will host this Friday and Saturday our annual Grace Baptist Ladies Conference. Ladies normally attend this great two day conference from 6 or 7 states. This is a very busy week in the life of our church and ministry but it is worth all the Effort and Energy because of the Gospel. Praise The Lord For A Purpose!
